The deadline most organisations have not yet costed. Windows 10 mainstream support ended on 14 October 2025. Paid Extended Security Updates run only to October 2028, priced per device and rising each year — and the free consumer extension expressly excludes centrally managed office computers. Windows 11 requires a TPM 2.0 chip that most installed desktops do not have. That leaves two options: pay for an extension that ends, or replace the hardware. OpenLx is a third.
